As a webmaster that manages multiple sites, you’ll tend to have more then one email address. Most of these extra email addresses will be from different sites, or many from the same site; if your one for organization. Trying to keep all these email addresses organized can be a big task. Having all your emails delivered into one box isn’t very fun, especially when you have quite a bit of junk mail that may come in.
There are a few ways you can get around this problem, but one of the best; if you’re using Outlook Express, would be to use rules. Rules can help you sift through all your emails, and sort them into boxes or delete the ones you no longer want or need.
First let’s look at the different ways you can sort your emails.
We’ll assume Outlook Express is already open.
Click on Tools --> Message Rules --> Mail...
Once the Message Rules Dialog is open, click on New…
In the next dialog you can see the different ways you can organize and sort your emails.
If you notice there are many different ways to sort emails. For instance you select “Where the To line contains people”, you could use this to have your different email addresses sent to a specific folders.
Let's Add a Rule
Select "Where the To line contains people"
Then select "Move it to the specified folder"

Next you'll want to click on "contains people".
Add the email address you'd like to move to the specified folder.

In this case we used test@test.com for this example. All email coming in on the email address "test@test.com" we can now move to a specified folder.

Next click on "specified" to select the folder you'd like to move it to.

For now we'll just use the Deleted Items folder. Hit ok, and you've now added a rule. Now all email coming in on the email address test@test.com will be sent to the Deleted Items folder. This works great if you've got allot of Spam coming in you'd like to delete without reading it.
Next you can name the rule whatever you'd like, and click Ok. You've just finished.

Using rules in Outlook Express is a great way to organize all your email. There are many different ways you can sort incoming emails, just read each rule and determine if it's the right one for you. Now that you understand how to add a simple rule, you should be able to start sorting all your incoming emails.
Setting up rules in Microsoft Outlook is very similar to setting up rules in Outlook Express.
